Formerly know as Bas Zaire or Bas Congo, Kongo central is one of the 26 provinces that form the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is number 4 In the map attached.

The capital city is Matadi but the region a neighbor to Kinshasa, the capital city of DRC.

Kongo Central is bordered on its west side by the Atlantic Ocean, on it East by Kinshasa and Kwango provinces, on the north is Republic of Congo, and on south by Angola.
